Setting Goals and Reaching Them
Are you still working on your new years goals? This year we set out to accomplish a lot and a quarterly check-in is already here.
We all get caught up in the day-to-day routine. We wake up, work, workout (sometimes) than relax and do it all again the next day. But where's the uncomfortable, boundary-pushing part? That sort of comfortable routine is not where we should be if we are to achieve the goals we set out to achieve this year.
As we near April it's a great time to tweak those habits we've fallen back into and once again push to achieve what it is we sought out too this year. Below is what we are doing to get our heads back in the game and achieve our goals.
Get back in the game:
- Envision your goals becoming reality. Seeing and believing a goal of yours happen helps as we put in the hard work.
- One of our SAVVY team members is training for a marathon, during her harder workouts she envisions the finish line and the satisfying feeling of accomplishment. It encourages her to keep going.
- When it gets hard, keep going. Don't throw the towel in when it starts to hurt physically or mentally. Anything worth doing takes time.
- We have felt the growing pains here at SAVVY as a new small business but we don't dwell on those hard or challenging moments. Instead we move forward onto the next task.
- Create a routine and execute accordingly. Routines help habits stick. If you are wanting to wake up earlier build your entire schedule accordingly so you can achieve that goal and make it a routine.
- One of our SAVVY coordinators is making an effort to practice yoga everyday before work. In order to be mentally prepared and motivated for an early class she has had to build her entire schedule around an early morning practice. She eats at different times so she can fall asleep earlier. Every weekday she goes to bed at 9pm and wakes up at 6am to make the 7am class.
Revisit your goals and see where you can improve to get your head back in the game. Don't let another moment go by where you aren't doing something you love. Goal setting is uncomfortable at times but always worth the investment.
