Recommit to doing good by the environment this Earth Day
RECOMMIT TO DOING GOOD BY THE ENVIRONMENT THIS EARTH DAY
Each Earth Day we are reminded of mother natures beauty. This year we want to encourage you all to make a few adjustments in your daily routine to do better by the environment. Below are three easy ways to reduce your carbon footprint and reduce your impact on the environment:
- Bring your own bags when you go shopping AND when possible avoid using plastics all together
- Americans use more than 100 billion plastic bags each year, more than 300 bags per person per year
- Plastic bags are used for an average of 12 minutes, but a single plastic bag has a life expectancy of up to 1,000 years
- Plastic bags in our oceans are changing marine habitats and polluting our food chain
- To learn more about the impact plastic has on our oceans watch the Plastic Paradise documentary!
- Walk or bike when you can. It's beautiful to be outside and it reduces your carbon footprint. We also recommend carpooling for environmental reasons and time saving reasons (carpool lane yay!).
- Reduce, reuse and recycle. You've probably heard these three words before but recommitting to these values and addressing ways you can incorporate them into your life is so important.
