Best places to grab a day drink in north county San Diego...

Summer has been hot in San Diego this year. If you're like us, a cool drink, great food and some nice ambiance is always a good summer outing idea. We wanted to share some of our favorite North County San Diego spots for a day drink.

1. Bier Garden

The best bloody mary drinks and for champagne drinkers, a bottle and mixer of your choice for $10 before noon. Our favorite drink is the lavender mule. This restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating and is located in downtown Encinitas. Whether you're headed to the beach or finishing up a coast workout, the food and drinks here are not to miss.

2. Shelter

The ambiance at this bar is fun for groups and day hangs. Swing by this bar in the day or on a summer night and the roof top will be opened up. One of our favorite places to grab a drink with out of town friends and clients. It's also central to other Encinitas food and bar spots. 

3. Urge

There are a few locations in San Diego - each one is better for different reasons. Our favorite though is the San Marcos location - grab food and drinks in side, then head outside for fun outdoor games. There is also a bowling alley with a few lanes inside. Burgers here are great along with their special blackberry and gin drink.
